Kairo House: Seizing Opportunities to Redefine Nightlife
Co Founder
Kairo House was officially launched in February 2024, but the idea had been in the works since 2023. It began with me and two friends identifying a significant gap in St Andrews’ nightlife scene. With only three main streets, a student population of over 10,000, and just one nightclub operated by the university union, we saw an opportunity to bring something fresh and dynamic to the town.
Our vision was to create a space that celebrated Afro and melodic house music while providing students with an immersive and unique nightlife experience. Starting in St Andrews, Kairo House has grown rapidly, hosting seven sold-out events and expanding to London and New York, showcasing the scalability of our brand. Through strategic marketing, we achieved an Instagram following of over 1,000 in just four months, representing 10% of the University of St Andrews’ student population.
As co-founder, I managed event budgets, secured venues, negotiated with vendors, and developed marketing campaigns to drive engagement and ticket sales. Kairo House has quickly become more than just an events brand—it’s a platform for celebrating culture, building community, and redefining nightlife in St Andrews and beyond.
